Dyasonic: Sound of Strength introduces Omnya, a high-school student learning how to live with type 1 diabetes before becoming a superhero. The comic was created by Marvel and Insulet to give young people with diabetes a hero whose medical reality is part of the story.

I live with type 2 diabetes, so this one was personal. We worked to make Omnya's fear, frustration and eventual confidence feel honest, while still giving readers a big, colorful Marvel superhero story.
